In 2005 Sinarmas Group through its subsidiary in financial services divission PT. Sinarmas Multiartha, Tbk, equired PT.Bank Shinta Indonesia which was set up in 1989 and begin comercial operation from March 1990. The Banks name was changed to Bank Sinarmas ("Bank") with effect from Desember 20, 2006, the date of concent of the Indonesia minister of laws and human rights.
As a privately owned company, the bank has consistantly increased in market share in the challenging in growing market in the country.
